Virtual Graph Paper

I just got a Cricut and typically use Adobe Illustrator; however, I hate Illustrator, and I love this VGP! It's so easy and convenient, and perfect for quick, simple shapes. Has anyone tried and/or successfully created cut path files using this VGP? If so, what was your process? I'm new to Cricut ...
