Fill - Without having to make individual boxes?

Hi all!
Is there any kind of feature that allows you to fill the squares without having to outline every single one? I love VGP for making my cross stitch and quilt patterns, but with 1 square = 1 stitch it is EXTREMELY tedious. Thank y'all!

This is an often requested feature and I'm working on adding it soon.
In the meantime, you could see if using Select + Duplicate can speed up your process.
